PROMOTING ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT ON WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY
On June 6, 2026, a large-scale environmental event dedicated to World Environment Day was held in the Cultural and Recreation Park “Iram” – in Dushanbe. The event brought together representatives of government institutions, higher education institutions, research organizations, public associations, international organizations, experts, scientists, students, and members of civil society.
The event was aimed at showcasing scientific achievements, promoting environmental culture, and raising public awareness about environmental protection.
As part of the environmental exhibition, staff members of the Research Institute of Sustainable Development and Green Economy of the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan, together with university faculty members, researchers, and volunteers of the “Green Vision” movement, actively participated in the event. They presented their scientific achievements, analytical materials, and the results of projects implemented in the fields of sustainable development and green economy.
Guests and participants had the opportunity to learn about the Institute’s research activities in the areas of climate change, water resource protection, biodiversity conservation, green economy, sustainable development, environmental security, and the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. The Institute’s scientific and research work attracted considerable interest from visitors.
During the event, volunteers of the “Green Vision” movement distributed informational materials and conducted awareness-raising activities on key environmental issues, including the responsible use of natural resources, pollution reduction, water and energy conservation, and the promotion of environmental culture.
The active participation of staff members and volunteers once again demonstrated the importance of integrating science, education, and society in addressing environmental challenges. It also highlighted the contribution of the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan and the Research Institute of Sustainable Development and Green Economy to advancing environmental policy and promoting sustainable development in the country.
Environmental protection is a shared responsibility of every citizen. Only through increased environmental awareness, the application of scientific achievements, and active public participation can a healthy environment and a sustainable future be ensured for present and future generations.
