GREEN INITIATIVE FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE: PLANTING OF “FRIENDSHIP” TREES AT THE INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF TOURISM AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP OF TAJIKISTAN

Within the framework of implementing the instructions and directives of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honourable Emomali Rahmon, aimed at transforming independent Tajikistan into a “Green” country, an important environmental initiative – the planting of “Friendship” trees – was held on April 15 of the current year at the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan within the framework of the Summit of Rectors of “Green” Universities.

The event was attended by rectors of member universities of the “Green” Universities community, representatives of scientific circles, and researchers. Its objective is considered to be the strengthening of international cooperation and the promotion of a culture of environmental protection.

By planting trees, the participants presented a symbol of friendship, mutual understanding, and shared responsibility in the field of nature conservation and sustainable development. It was emphasized that such initiatives are of particular importance in the context of climate change and the growing environmental challenges, and contribute to educating future generations in the spirit of respect for nature.

It was noted that the initiative of planting “Friendship” trees is one of the important components of the Summit’s programme and provides a favourable basis for strengthening relations among universities and implementing the goals of “green” development.

It is expected that such initiatives will continue in the future, contributing to environmental protection and the development of international cooperation.
