PROMOTING DOMESTIC SCIENCE TO THE INTERNATIONAL LEVEL
On March 10, 2026, at the initiative of the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan, a seminar was held on improving the quality of scientific articles and adapting them to international standards, increasing the number of publications in authoritative scientific journals, including those indexed in the Scopus database, and creating conditions for higher education institutions to participate in global rankings.
The main goal of the event was to improve the quality of scientific research, develop international activities, strengthen the authority of Tajik science on the world stage, and ensure the participation of the country’s higher education institutions in international rankings.
Dmitry Viktorovich Sultanov, advisor to the scientific publishing company Elsevier (Netherlands), spoke at the seminar. In his speech, he congratulated the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan on its registration in the international information and analytical database Scopus as the first university in the Republic of Tajikistan to be registered in this system.
D.V. Sultanov spoke about the capabilities of the Scopus international information and analytical database, the main criteria for the participation of higher education institutions in international rankings such as QS and THE, the procedure for including scientific journals in the Scopus database, as well as other issues related to the publication of scientific articles in authoritative international journals and their significance.
The event was attended by representatives of the structural divisions of the International University.
