Umedjon Majidi is the Head of the Department of International Relations and Green Diplomacy and holds a PhD in History (International Relations and Foreign Policy). He obtained a Master’s degree in Corruption and Governance from the University of Sussex (United Kingdom), as well as a Master’s degree in Politics with a specialization in International Relations from the School of International Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University (New Delhi, India). With his extensive academic background and international experience, Umedjon Majidi possesses a profound understanding of global governance strategies, anti-corruption policy, and international cooperation in the field of sustainable development.
The Department of International Relations and Green Diplomacy focuses on developing partnerships with international organizations, universities, and research centers, implementing programs on green diplomacy and sustainable development, and promoting Tajikistan’s participation in international initiatives on climate, ecology, and the rational use of natural resources.
The department’s activities include organizing international forums, conferences, and training programs aimed at strengthening Tajikistan’s international image as an active participant in the global “green” agenda.
Under the leadership of Umedjon Majidi, the department serves as an intellectual platform for shaping and promoting the concept of green diplomacy as a modern form of interaction between science, policy, and international institutions in the interests of sustainable development.

Qurbonov Maruf Muidinovich

Qurbanov Maruf Muidinovich is a researcher and lecturer in the field of international relations and green diplomacy. Since 2019, he has been actively engaged in scientific research, focusing on issues of sustainable development, the green economy, and geopolitical processes.
He is also recognized as an international expert in quality assurance and environmental policy analysis. The main areas of his scientific and research activities include improving environmental conditions through green diplomacy mechanisms, international cooperation within the framework of “green” strategies, the digital economy, and environmental governance.
In his research, he pays special attention to analyzing the experiences of various countries in green diplomacy and applying these models to the sustainable development of Tajikistan.
Currently, he works as a Research Fellow at the Scientific Research Institute of Sustainable Development and Green Economy at the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan. Additionally, he is preparing his dissertation on the green diplomacy of the Republic of Tajikistan.
His work at the Institute focuses on researching and developing strategies in green economy, environmental diplomacy, and international cooperation for sustainable development, natural resource management, and environmental energy policy. He analyzes the experiences of developed countries in the field of green economy and adapts them to the specific context of Tajikistan, while also exploring various aspects of the country’s environmental policy.
In addition, Maruf Muidinovich plays an active role in formulating recommendations aimed at strengthening Tajikistan’s position in international environmental cooperation, attracting investment in green economy projects, and advancing environmental diplomacy at both regional and global levels.

Kholzoda Mehriddin Ravshan

Kholzoda Mehriddin Ravshan (Kholov Mehriddin Ravshanovich) – a leading scientific researcher of Department of international relations and green diplomacy, doctor PhD. An experienced specialist, he has dedicated his research to sustainable development issues in the field of personnel training in line with labor market needs through the study of foreign languages and the use of innovative technologies. The results of his research have been published in national and international scientific journals, including those in the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Armenia and other countries.
Kholzoda Mehriddin’s research focuses on sustainable development goals, including: meeting labor market needs by training language specialists in various fields; developing the tourism and ecotourism industry by training professional guides; developing professional – linguistic competencies of specialists through the effective use of innovative technologies; digitalization of foreign language teaching using artificial intelligence platforms; developing international cooperation as a sustainable development goal; implementing international cooperation in accordance with the foreign policy system, etc.
Since 2013, he has been engaged in scientific and educational activities, and since 2018 in research activities. Based on his research, Mehriddin Kholzoda has published 58 scientific articles. Of these, 16 were published in peer-reviewed journals of the Higher attestation commission under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Russian Federation, 34 in scientific journals and collections of international and national conferences, 1 monograph, 1 textbook and 6 teaching aids.
As a leading scientific researcher of Department of international relations and green diplomacy, Mehriddin Kholzoda is responsible for coordinating and attracting grant programs and projects to implement sustainable development goals and the Institute’s plans and objectives. As part of the department’s research, he is also studying and researching the topic of “Green diplomacy and the foreign policy system of the Republic of Tajikistan.”
To enhance his professional qualifications and study the experience of foreign countries, he has traveled to various countries, spoken at several international forums and conferences, and completed short-term professional development and retraining courses during his trips abroad. He holds a certificate of completion for these international professional development courses.
For his valuable contribution and effective work in the country’s cultural and educational sectors, Mehriddin Kholzoda was awarded the honorary badge “Excellent worker in education and science of Tajikistan” in 2021 and the honorary badge “Excellent worker in culture of the Republic of Tajikistan” in 2024. He also won first place in the Republican competition “Furugi subhi doni kitob ast” in the “World literature” category in 2025.
