At the initiative of the Research Institute for Sustainable Development and Green Economy of the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan, on 8 September 2025 a round table on the topic “State Independence and Sustainable Development of Tajikistan” was held, dedicated to the 34th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The round table was attended by a representative of the University administration, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation, PhD, Associate Professor Islombek Zoirzoda; Deputy Director of the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Jurakhonzoda Saodat Jurakhon; as well as the leadership and staff of the University and the Institute, and active students.

The round table was formally opened by the Director of the Research Institute for Sustainable Development and Green Economy, Professor Farhod Sharofzoda, who spoke about the achievements of the period of Independence over 34 glorious years for the state and the Tajik nation. Then the Vice-Rector of the University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan, Islombek Zoirzoda, on behalf of the University administration, congratulated the participants of the round table on the highly esteemed holiday of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan.

At the round table, the following presentations were delivered: a presentation by the Deputy Director of the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Jurakhonzoda Saodat Jurakhon, on the topic “Achievements of Strategic Goals in the Period of Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan”; a presentation by the Academic Secretary of the Research Institute for Sustainable Development and Green Economy, Habibova Sabohat Safiulloevna, on the topic “State Independence – a Solid Foundation for Sustainable Development and the Green Economy”; a presentation by the Head of the Department for Green Employment Development and Environmental Awareness, Madina Turdieva Azimova, on the topic “Development of the Labour Market in the Period of National Independence”; a presentation by the Head of the Department for Research on Green Industry and the Circular Economy, Madina Jumaevna Jaborova, on the topic “Development of National Industry in the Period of State Independence”; a presentation by the Head of the Department for Environmental Studies and Natural Resource Management, Lola Zuhurbekovna Alieva, on the topic “Green Tajikistan: 34 Years of Independence and Environmental Protection”; a presentation by the Head of the Department for Sustainable Development of the Service Sectors, Muborak Alimjonovna Alimova, on the topic “Sustainable Development of the Service Sectors in the Period of the Sovereign Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan”; and a presentation by the Head of the Department for International Relations and Green Diplomacy, Umedjon Kudratullo Majidi, on the topic “International Relations of Tajikistan in the Period of Independence.”

At the conclusion of the round table, participants shared their views and reflections regarding the presentations discussed.
