SCIENTIFIC AND PRACTICAL ROUNDTABLE

On 26th of February 2025 at the Serena hotel a roundtable discussion on “Implementation of green technologies in retail: social responsibility and sustainable development” was held at the initiative of the Department of sustainable development of the services sector of the Research Institute for sustainable development and green economy of the International University of tourism and entrepreneurship of Tajikistan in collaboration with the Aarhus center of the Committee for environmental protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan. The discussion was attended by representatives of ministries and committees, executives and specialists from commercial companies, public associations, as well as scientists and experts.

During his opening speech, the Institute’s Director, Doctor of economics, professor Farhod Sharofzoda recalled the global initiatives of the Founder of peace and national unity – Leader of the nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan exellency Emomali Rahmon in the areas of sustainable development, green economy, environmental protection, and climate change. He also noted the importance of the roundtable’s topic in the context of the formation of a green economy in the modern world. It was noted that special attention should be paid to the development of the trade sector, which has particular social significance in the context of developing a green economy, as one of the key areas.

Then, representatives of the Committee for environmental protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Ministry of economic development and trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Aarhus centre, managers and specialists from the “Paykar” and “Laklak” retail chains, trade cooperatives, public organizations, as well as scientists and experts in the field, spoke.

The roundtable concluded with discussions and negotiations on its topic and proposals and recommendations were adopted in the form of a conclusion.
