
REPUBLICAN SCIENTIFIC SEMINAR ON “NAVRUZ AS A NATIONAL TOURISM BRAND AND A MEANS OF ENSURING THE DEVELOPMENT OF A GREEN ECONOMY”
In accordance with the program, the seminar was opened by professor Ibrohimzoda I.R. – director of the Research Institute of tourism and entrepreneurship. In his presentation, he described the history of the Navruz holiday during the period of Shah Jamshed. He said that in 2010 by the initiative of the Founder of peace and National unity – Leader of the nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan excellency Emomali Rahmon and its proclamation as an international holiday by a UN resolution. He also discussed about the role of tourism development in the traditional rituals and customs of this holiday.
Professor F.R. Sharofzoda – director of Research Institute of sustainable development and green economy also spoke that appreciating the international Nowruz as an awakening of nature, the greenery and joy of the homeland and the beauty and joy of the people, they dubbed this year’s Nowruz “Green Nowruz” in recognition of the consistent initiatives of President Emomali Rahmon to implement sustainable development and green economy policies. They also congratulated the seminar participants on this wonderful holiday of the year and in keeping with the traditions and slogan “Kind behavior, kind words and kind thoughts,” called on them to cast aside resentment and hostility and develop friendship, unity and constructiveness, as well as to increase their responsibility for ensuring that our dear and beloved homeland Tajikistan is prosperous, green and joyful.
At the seminar Kosimi S.A. – doctor of philology and head of the department of language and literature teaching methods of the Tajik state pedagogical university named after S. Ainy delivered a presentation on “Tourist features of Nowruz celebrations.” He discussed a number of traditions characteristic of Navruz celebrations and comparing them with international programs in European and Asian countries, expressed his thoughts and proposals for respecting and appreciating the Navruz ritual in Tajikistan.
The next presentation was by the seminar’s guest, writer, and Honored worker of Tajikistan – Majid Salim on theme “Navruz in the works of ancestors.” During his speech, Majid Salim mentioned the ideas of Omar Khayam in “Navruznoma” and the progressive ideas of Abulqosim Firdavsi in “Shohnoma,” and read poetry excerpts from these poems as evidence of the history and customs of Navruz.
At the end of the seminar guests were presented with commemorative souvenirs and certificates of honor prepared by the institutes’ leadership.
