
LABOR MARKET DEVELOPMENT IN THE CONTEXT OF A GREEN ECONOMY
On 25th of December 2024 a roundtable discussion on “Labor market development in the context of a green economy” was held at the Serena hotel in Dushanbe at the initiative of the Research Institute for sustainable development and green economy of the International University of tourism and entrepreneurship of Tajikistan.
Representatives of ministries and agencies, international organizations, heads and specialists of commercial companies, public associations, as well as scientists and experts, participated in the event.
During his speech Ubaydullo Asrorzoda – Rector of the International University of tourism and entrepreneurship of Tajikistan, doctor of economics, professor recalled the global initiatives of the Founder of peace and national unity – Leader of the nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in the areas of sustainable development, the green economy, environmental protection, and climate change, and noted the importance of the roundtable discussion in the context of the development of a green economy in the modern world.
It was noted that special attention should be paid to the development of the labor market in a green economy, as one of the key mechanisms of this process. The labor market must be shaped in accordance with the new requirements of the green economy and effectively facilitate the creation of new jobs, ensuring productive employment and improving the standard of living of citizens.
Representatives of the Ministry of labor, migration and employment of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Center for strategic studies at the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Chamber of commerce and industry of the Republic of Tajikistan, the International organization for migration, representatives of domestic and foreign private companies, public associations, and academics and experts in the field participated in the event and delivered presentations.
The roundtable concluded with discussions and negotiations on its topic, and proposals and recommendations were adopted in the form of a conclusion.
