JOINT VIEWING OF THE ANNUAL ADDRESS OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF TAJIKISTAN, HIS EXCELLENCY EMOMALI RAHMON
On 16 December 2025, the annual Address of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, on the main directions of the domestic and foreign policy of the Republic of Tajikistan was delivered to the Majlisi Oli (Supreme Assembly) of the Republic of Tajikistan. The staff of the Research Institute for Sustainable Development and Green Economy of the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan, together with employees of other university units, watched the Address live on television in the university’s cultural hall with a strong sense of patriotism and civic awareness.
It should be noted that the President’s annual Address to the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan covers all spheres of public life. It highlights, analyzes, and assesses various issues of national development and considers the prospects for societal progress and the achievement of the country’s strategic goals.
In particular, the Head of State described 2025 as a year of significant achievements and important events, such as the parliamentary elections, the resolution of border issues, and the international recognition of a number of the country’s initiatives. During the Address, an analysis was presented of the implementation of the medium-term National Development Strategy and the achievement of the country’s strategic objectives over the past ten years. On this basis, specific proposals and recommendations were issued to relevant authorities and institutions to strengthen their work and create favorable conditions for the development of digital technologies and artificial intelligence, accelerated industrialization, the effective use of transit and tourism potential, the continuation of public administration reforms, support for entrepreneurship, and the improvement of the investment climate.
It was also emphasized that the Government should pay attention to the development of a green and circular economy. Key points voiced in the Address regarding sustainable development and the green economy included: the issuance of green securities; support for the sustainable development of the extractive and geological sector; sustainable development of the cotton sector; deeper processing of products; construction of solar power plants with a total capacity of 1,500 MW; the establishment and provision of large AI computing centers powered by green electricity and cooled with cold water; the expansion of scientific and practical work on glacier studies; and the presentation of achievements on the international stage.
The establishment of the Center of Aryan Civilization and the International Navruz Center, as well as the declaration of 2026 as the year of expanding greening, improvement works and strengthening national self-awareness and identity honoring the 35th anniversary of state independence, are considered important steps toward recognizing and promoting the more than six-thousand-year-old culture of the Tajik people.
