DEVELOPMENT OF THE LABOUR MARKET IN THE CONTEXT OF THE FORMATION of a GREEN ECONOMY

On 25 December 2024, at the Serena Hotel in Dushanbe, a round table on the topic “Development of the Labour Market in the Context of the Formation of a Green Economy” was held at the initiative of the Research Institute for Sustainable Development and Green Economy of the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan.

 

The event was attended by representatives of ministries and state agencies, international organizations, heads and specialists of private companies, public associations, as well as scholars and experts.

 

In his opening remarks, the Rector of the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan, Doctor of Economics, Professor Ubaidullo Asrorzoda, recalled the global initiatives of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, in the areas of sustainable development, the green economy, environmental protection, and climate change. He emphasized the importance of the topic of the round table in the context of the formation of a green economy in the modern world.

 

It was noted that the development of the labour market under green economy conditions, as one of the key mechanisms of this process, should receive special attention. The labour market must be shaped in accordance with the new requirements of the green economy and effectively contribute to the creation of new jobs, the provision of productive employment, and the improvement of citizens’ living standards.

 

Subsequently, representatives of the Ministry of Labour, Migration and Employment of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan, the International Organization for Migration, representatives of national and foreign private companies, as well as public associations and sectoral scholars and experts took part and delivered presentations.

 

At the conclusion of the round table, discussions were held on its topic, and proposals and recommendations were adopted in the form of a summary.
