DEVELOPMENT OF GREEN ENERGY AS A FACTOR IN ACHIEVING THE REPUBLIC’S STRATEGIC GOALS
On December 22, 2025, at the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan, a national scientific-practical conference titled “Development of Green Energy as a Factor in Achieving the Republic’s Strategic Goals” was held to mark Energy Sector Workers’ Day. The conference was organized at the initiative of the Research Institute for Sustainable Development and Green Economy and the University’s Department of Entrepreneurship and Sectoral Economics, and it brought together representatives of government bodies, the private sector, as well as scholars and experts in the field.
The conference was opened by the Director of the Research Institute for Sustainable Development and Green Economy of the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Farhod Sharofzoda, who noted that, in light of the far-sighted policy of the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, the use of green energy and the sustainable development of the energy sector have become an important element of energy and environmental security, playing a significant role in transforming the country into a “green” nation. He also highlighted the academic and practical importance of the conference and the role of science in advancing green energy.
In the plenary session, scientific presentations were delivered by:
– Yuldoshev Zarifjon Sharifovich – Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Electrification and Automation of Agriculture, Tajik Agrarian University named after Shirinsho Shotemur;
– Rizoi Bahromzod – Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Leading Researcher at the S.U. Umarov Institute of Physics and Technology of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan;
– Qudusov Mansurjon Abdusalomovich – Deputy Chair of the Renewable Energy Association of Tajikistan;
– Yaqubov Jamoliddin Nuriddinovich – Editor-in-Chief of the publication “Human and Nature”, and Head of the ORHUS Center of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the scientific discussions, scholars and experts from the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan, the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, the Tajik Agrarian University, the Renewable Energy Association of Tajikistan, and various structures of the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan shared their views on issues related to the generation and application of green energy across different sectors of the economy.
At the conclusion of the plenary session, it was emphasized that the development of green energy can be ensured through reliance on scientific and innovative results, modern economic mechanisms, active promotion of its advantages, and raising the public’s level of awareness and education.
