Mission and strategic vision

The Department for Green Employment Development and Environmental Education was established to support the transition of society toward sustainable development through the creation of jobs in “green” sectors of the economy, the promotion of environmentally friendly technologies, and the cultivation of environmental awareness among the population. We are focused on developing and implementing social and organizational practices that contribute to the preservation of natural resources, improvement of quality of life, and long-term environmental sustainability.

The department serves as a scientific and expert platform that brings together professionals in the fields of vocational education, labor relations, as well as young researchers and students. Its activities aim to raise public awareness about the importance of environmental protection and the sustainable use of natural resources.

Key areas of activity:

conducting fundamental and applied research in the field of labor market development focused on green technologies and environmental education;
developing scientifically grounded recommendations for amending the definition of “green employment” in the labor Code of the Republic of Tajikistan;
monitoring and analyzing the creation of green jobs in sectors such as industry, energy, agriculture, transport, tourism, construction, housing and utilities, and waste management;
expanding academic and scientific cooperation with leading universities, research centers, and international organizations;
organizing scientific events at the national and international levels, including conferences, forums, roundtables, and green economy schools;
preparing and managing international projects aimed at sustainable development, climate adaptation, and environmental education;
integrating environmental topics into the university’s educational and research programs.

Priority research topics and projects:

Development of professional standards for green jobs;
Environmental education and raising awareness across the regions of the Republic of Tajikistan;
Assessment of the impact of climate change on labor resources and socio-economic development;
Training and retraining of specialists and labor migrants for integration into the green economy;
Development of educational programs aimed at enhancing the qualifications of specialists in sustainable development and the implementation of green technologies.

International Cooperation:

The department actively collaborates with international research centers and universities, fostering partnerships with leading academic and scientific institutions. The primary goal of this cooperation is the exchange of knowledge, best practices, and joint efforts to address pressing issues related to sustainable development and green technologies.

As part of international projects, the department plays an active role in developing research initiatives aimed at experience-sharing with other countries in the following areas: creation of environmentally friendly jobs, support for green entrepreneurship, and development of sustainable business models within the framework of the green economy.

Our goals:

to foster the formation of a new generation equipped with knowledge and skills in environmentally friendly technologies, green employment, and environmental education;
to strengthen Tajikistan’s scientific and practical contribution to the development of a labor market focused on environmentally sustainable industries;
to establish an educational platform that will serve as a center for training highly qualified specialists capable of addressing the challenges of the green economy.
