
CURRENT ISSUES IN THE FORMATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF A GREEN ECONOMY IN THE REPUBLIC OF TAJIKISTAN
To fulfill the instructions and directives of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon on implementing goals and initiatives toward a green economy staff from the Research Institute for Sustainable development and green economy of the International University of tourism and entrepreneurship of Tajikistan conducted a working visit to Levakant on 24th of February 2025.
First, they visited the museum of the Leader of the nation at the Levakant chemical industry lyceum where he studied from 1969 to 1971 and were very impressed.
Then, according to the program the Institute staff visited the Levakant international institute where they toured the institute’s center and classrooms. They held a scientific conference on “Current issues in the formation and development of a green economy in the Republic of Tajikistan” attended by a delegation of faculty and students.
The rector of the institute, associate professor Saidzoda S.S. and Ddrector of the Research Institute for sustainable development and green economy professor Sharofzoda F.R. delivered welcoming remarks at the scientific conference. The following speakers also presented at the conference: “Green economy development issues in the address of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Majlisi oli” – Saodat Jurakhonzoda, deputy director of the Center for strategic studies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Professor Z.M. Kurbonova deputy director of the Research Institute for sustainable development and green economy “Labor market development in the context of the formation of a green economy”.
Following the scientific conference, following the constructive initiatives of the Leader of the nation, Institute staff planted green, shade-producing and fruit trees in the courtyard of the Levakant international institute.
During the visit, the Institute staff visited two enterprises producing environmentally friendly products.
