INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE “THE UNITED NATIONS AND GLOBAL INITIATIVES OF THE REPUBLIC OF TAJIKISTAN: COOPERATION FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT”

On 26th of September 2025 the International scientific conference entitled “The United Nations and global initiatives of the Republic of Tajikistan: cooperation for sustainable development” was held at the International University of tourism and entrepreneurship of Tajikistan by the initiative of the Research Institute for sustainable development and green economy.

This high-level event was held in honor of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations and as part of the address by the Leader of the nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, excellency Emomali Rahmon at the 80th session of the United Nations general assembly. Its main goal was to strengthen partnerships and dialogue in implementing the Republic of Tajikistan’s global initiatives and promoting the achievement of the sustainable development goals (SDGs). The conference was attended and addressed by members of the Majlisi namoyandagoni Majlisi oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Shamsherzoda Komiljon, Ahmadzoda Dilnoza and Nabotzoda Sievush.

Representatives of ministries and agencies, embassies, international organizations, research centers, and public associations also participated and spoke.

The conference began with a welcoming speech by Asrorzoda Ubaidullo Sattor – doctor of economics, professor, rector of the International University of Tourism and entrepreneurship of Tajikistan. Asrorzoda Ubaidullo proudly recalled the speech of the Leader of the nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon at the 80th session of the UN general assembly noting that Tajikistan maintains a stable and constructive position in addressing global challenges, including climate change, water diplomacy, cybersecurity, and strengthening international law.

The meeting was held in a highly scientific spirit. The final reports emphasized Tajikistan’s international recognition as an initiator and global leader in water, climate, and green diplomacy.

At the end of the conference, participants were presented with the activities as well as the recently published books “The Leader of the nation and the formation of green diplomacy in the Republic of Tajikistan” and “Global initiatives of the Republic of Tajikistan.”
